Podgast - Episode 3

The above tutorial will give you more information about using props.

9. Using reward to motivate child to self development

It's important to give the child compliment for his or her achievements may it be big or small.

The simplest incentive system is reminding the child of a fun activity to do when homework is done. It may be a favorite television show, a change to spend some time with a video or computer game, talking on the telephone or instant massaging.

8. Breaking down the work

To help a child break down his/her work, at first you should figure out how much time you should allocate to the homework and how it will incorporate with other household duties that is required done. The advantages to break down the work helps a child not to panic when an assignment is given. It avoids last minutes work which might lead to many mistakes and doing the wrong things. Decide how long your child should work at each sitting, sometime too much work is not good for the brain it may lead to confusion.

7. Getting organized

There are two steps that can be taken on how to get organized for some homework. The first step is to:

Creating a work schedule

A work schedule should include the following

  • A list of all work needed to complete
  • what should be done with the time Given
  • when to do it,
A work schedule helps you to attend to all your homework without allowing you to forget or leaving out any task that needed to be done.

Plan rules for your household

By enforcing rules, allows the children to focus more and gives the child more structure and discipline.  The child should be aware of the rules and regulations of the house for example the child should know when to eat, when to play and when to focus on school activities.

6. Make sure your child has a good environment.

Keeping in mind that the children get distracted very easily, create a comfortable study area where they can focus on their assignment without any likely distracted from devises, pets, play items or family members moving around

5. Always request for help when needed.

If you are having trouble helping your child with homework, do not be afraid to ask for help from a teacher or tutor. they can give you advise on the best way of supporting your child learning. Homework for kids can be frustrating and challenging experience for both students and parents.

4.Setting good example for the child

 Offer encouragement.

Organizing and planning homework can be tricky for many children. Offer encouragement and praise for any amount of progress. Your feedback helps the child with moral support and goes a long way.

Incorporate planning time

Set aside planning time each week for children to plan their homework. have children use daaily planners to map out  after school activities and schedule in blocks of time to complete homework.

3. Encourage children to stay positive while doing homework

Parents should be an example and model a positive attitude in all that they say, do and believe. Positive thinking turns to breed positive outcomes and if the child observes positive outcomes from your attitude, they are more likely to want to experience the same positive outcomes.

2. Encourage them to take breaks when doing homeworks

Children need to take breaks during their homework, especially if it's taking a long time.

Encourage them to get up and move around for a few minutes or even have a quick snack as this will help them to stay focused and motivated.
